**Scriptural Foundation: Psalm 63:3 (NABRE)**

*“So I look to you in the sanctuary to see your power and glory.”*

Praise in the Sanctuary invites the viewer into the mystery of worship before the Lord. At the heart of the composition, the Eucharistic presence becomes a point of stillness amid expressive movement. Surrounding forms rise and unfold like a chorus of praise, suggesting that the sanctuary is not simply a place we enter, but a place where our hearts are drawn toward God.

The psalmist declares his longing to behold the power and glory of the Lord in the sanctuary. This desire reaches beyond admiration for sacred beauty. It is the soul’s yearning to encounter the living God, to recognize His holiness, and to respond with adoration. The sanctuary becomes the meeting place of divine generosity and human thanksgiving.

For Catholics, that encounter finds a singular expression in the Holy Eucharist. Under the appearances of bread and wine, Jesus Christ is truly present—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. Before the Blessed Sacrament, the faithful do not merely remember a distant event; they adore the Lord who remains with His Church and offers Himself as the Bread of Life.

The poured and ascending forms in the painting evoke the praise of the heavenly hosts. They recall the Church’s conviction that earthly worship is joined to the worship of heaven. At the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the voices of the faithful unite with those of the angels and saints in glorifying the Father through the Son in the Holy Spirit. Heaven and earth are not strangers here; they are drawn together in the praise of God.

Yet authentic praise is not confined to the sanctuary walls. Having encountered Christ in prayer and sacrament, the believer is called to carry His love into the world. Adoration opens the heart to gratitude; gratitude becomes service; and service becomes another offering of praise. The beauty contemplated before the altar must find expression in the life we live beyond it.

This painting therefore invites us to approach the Lord with reverence, to remain before Him in attentive silence, and to allow His grace to transform us. The sanctuary is a place of encounter, but also of sending forth: we enter to behold His glory and depart to bear witness to it.

*In the sanctuary, praise becomes adoration, and adoration becomes a life offered to God.*
